Aarong Launches 'Winter Wonderland 2025' to Showcase Bangladesh’s Craft Heritage

Month-long festival aims to boost artisan visibility, customer engagement and BRAC’s broader enterprise ecosystem

Lifestyle brand Aarong has announced the launch of “Winter Wonderland 2025: A Celebration of Crafts,” a month-long carnival aimed at promoting Bangladesh’s traditional craft sector and the artisans driving the industry. The festival will run throughout December at the Aarong Tejgaon outlet, which will remain open until 11 pm on festival days.

The event will feature a wide display of handcrafted products including jamdani, nakshi kantha, hand embroidery, jewellery and rickshaw art, highlighting the skills of rural artisans who have contributed to Aarong’s growth for nearly fifty years. According to the organisation, the initiative is designed to bring artisans, customers and communities together in an interactive retail environment.

Winter Wonderland 2025 will offer weekly thematic experiences such as a Pitha Uthshob, Thanda Beats, a wedding-themed celebration and concerts featuring top-performing Bangladeshi artists. A grand finale concert will mark the closing week.

The carnival has been positioned as a family-centric experience, with food carts serving local favourites—from pithas and fuchka to kebabs and seasonal snacks. Additional attractions include a Kids’ Zone, Terracotta Tales carnival games and do-it-yourself craft areas, along with live music in an immersive craft-themed setting.

A dedicated zone will also introduce visitors to the refreshed aarong.com, offering an interactive digital experience. Several BRAC social enterprises will participate, including Aarong Origins, Aarong Dairy, BRAC Healthcare and Otithi, presenting their products and services to visitors.

Aarong said the festival reinforces its commitment to sustainability and social impact by strengthening the connection between consumers and the communities behind Bangladesh’s diverse craft traditions.
